| DEL CASTILLO SEEKS HELP
FROM THE PUBLIC IN RECOVERING STOLEN GEAR
Del Castillo’s trailer was stolen from their recording
facility in South Austin sometime during the early morning hours of January
4. The custom-built trailer contained several thousand dollars worth
of gear and equipment vital to the band’s live performances, and
the theft was reported immediately to the Austin Police Department.
APD
recovered the trailer on Sunday, January 7, and upon inventorying its
contents the band discovered that numerous pieces of gear had been stolen.
APD has an ongoing investigation into the matter.
It is assumed that
the perpetrators will attempt to sell the stolen equipment, which has
prompted the band to seek help from their friends, fans, media, and the
general public. Although the loss is quite extensive, the band is especially
eager to recover some of the most important items:
- Shure U4S Diversity Wireless Receiver w/SM58 wireless
mic
- Shure T4V Diversity Receiver – Vocal w/SM58 handheld mic; serial
#421980230
- Ampeg SVT-III Bass Head; serial #TN3DE00009
- Gallien-Krueger
400 RB Mark IV Bass Head; serial #1RA0410E02107264
- Djembe Drum w/stand
- Yamaha 24-channel 12-Buss Mixer w/splitter box and snake
- PS700 Custom In-Ear Monitor
- Case for Yamaha Mixer and
Splitter box
- Guitar World Case
The band urges you to contact APD immediately if you have been approached to purchase any of these items or any other items presumed to be stolen, or if you have any information regarding the theft. The APD contact is Detective Burke in the Motor Theft Division and he can be reached at 512-974-5265. The information can also be submitted by email to the band at info@delcastillomusic.com.
“It’s really disappointing that a crime like this would happen here in Austin where music is so valued,” stated Mark del Castillo. “We’re hopeful that this appeal will pave the way for the recovery of our equipment and we assure all of our friends and fans that this setback is only temporary.”
