| LATIN ROCKERS DEL CASTILLO & DESOL
JOIN FORCES FOR DECEMBER TOUR OF TEXAS
Texas based Del
Castillo have invited New Jersey based counterparts deSol to join them
in their home-state of Texas for a for a seven date run in early December
including stops in Austin, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Corpus Christi, Lubbock,
and more. The tour will close out a very busy year for both bands and
serves as a fitting prelude to a momentous 2006 which will see new CD
releases and national tours from both bands.
Austin based Del Castillo
has been at the forefront of the revived Latin Rock scene in Texas since
their formation in 2000. With a solid foundation based on the flamenco-style
guitars of brothers Rick and Mark del Castillo, the band pushes the boundaries
of traditional Latin music. Since their inception, Del Castillo has been
awarded numerous honors including “Austin Band of the Year” and “Album
of the Year” by the Austin Chronicle, and “Independent Band
of the Year” by ASCAP. The band has also earned an appearance on
the ABC sitcom The George Lopez Show and inclusion on soundtracks
for the movies Kill Bill Vol. 2 and Once
Upon a Time in Mexico.
Del Castillo who has recently shared the stage with Ozomatli and Los
Lobos will continue their tour throughout 2006 in support of their third
studio album to be released in April 2006.
Joining Del Castillo on their trip across
the expanse of Texas will be up and coming Latin rockers deSol, who hail
from Asbury Park, New Jersey. Although their hometown is better known
as the home of Bruce Springsteen, deSol has made their own indelible
mark on the local music scene by introducing Latin music into New Jersey’s
musical lexicon. deSol will travel across the country to join Del Castillo;
but the band is no stranger to Texas, particularly Austin, where earlier
this year they performed a sold-out SXSW showcase as well as a blistering
set at the prestigious Austin City Limits Festival. The past year has
seen their debut single Karma climb all the way up to #3 on the AAA radio
charts along with successful tours with the likes of R.E.M. and Los Lonely
Boys. deSol hopes to continue their success by releasing a live CD in
2006.
* Los Super Vatos will be performing on select dates.
