DEL CASTILLO MEMBERS TO APPEAR ON THE GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW

Members of Del Castillo flew to Los Angeles last week at the invitation of funnyman George Lopez to appear on The George Lopez Show, his hit ABC-TV sitcom. Band members Rick and Mark del Castillo and Alex Ruiz joined with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez to play the role of a band -- not much of a stretch as Del Castillo and Rodriguez have done numerous appearances together as "Chingon.” The storyline has the band booked to perform at a surprise renewal of vows between Lopez and his wife, Angie, played by Constance Marie. Lopez first encountered Del Castillo when he was in Austin to star in Rodriguez' upcoming feature The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl in 3-D. Lopez, who plays shredding electric guitar himself, was very impressed with what he heard and saw. He commented, “When Robert Rodriguez introduced me to Del Castillo and their music in Austin I was blown away. These boys are on their way. I expect them to really take off this year. I hope they don’t forget me.”
